Biomass based Cookstove awareness program

Biomass Briquette Cookstove Demonstration & Crop Residue Management Initiative – Barwani, Madhya Pradesh

Bio Trend Energy, in collaboration with Aparajita Mahila Sangh (AMS), conducted a transformative event in Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh, aimed at addressing two critical issues — crop residue management and clean cooking solutions.

ðŸ”Ĩ Clean Energy for Rural Kitchens

Alongside this initiative, a live demonstration and training session on biomass-based cookstoves was organized for the local women of Barwani. The session educated participants about the harmful effects of traditional chulhas (mud stoves), which cause indoor air pollution and health risks.

Women were introduced to eco-friendly biomass cookstoves that operate using biomass pellets made from agricultural residue. These stoves are smoke-free, fuel-efficient, and safer for everyday household use.

The demonstration was well-received, and the community expressed enthusiasm for adopting these modern cookstoves as a healthier and more sustainable alternative.

🔗 A Linked Sustainable Approach

This initiative brings forward a circular model that links agriculture, clean fuel, and rural livelihood:

  • Farmers’ crop waste gets responsibly managed,

  • The residue is converted into biomass pellets,

  • The same pellets are used by local households as clean cooking fuel.

This approach not only empowers rural women but also supports local farmers and contributes to a cleaner environment.
